What do you do with friends that do this to you?

Do you have friends that are financially well off and let you know it? They send you pics of the $3,000 house they rented on the beach, when they know you are single, and are on a limited income. They tell you how great their lives are when they know yours isn't going very well. And more pics on your text of them on their boat, etc.
I just don't have anything to say back to them. I really am wondering if they just need someone like myself to show off to? I don't want to be friends with them anymore because all they do is brag to me about their lives.
How would you handle this situation? I had two friends that did that to me, and I dropped one of them after a 50 year friendship. The other one just sent me pics of her and her mother looking happy, and wearing matching shirts. She knows my mother passed away. Why do they do this to me? It really hurts my feelings.

I hate the people who send these lame Christmas cards with a letter telling about all the cool stuff they did over the last year. They always fail to mention the kid who is in rehab or the affair the wife had. Then they forget to mention about getting lugged for tax evasion.

Sending pictures of her and her mother looking happy in my opinion is totally fine. But I think its weird and a show of bad character to just send a bunch of photos and brag about material things no matter the amount of wealth the other person has.

Many people are thoughtless and oblivious to the impact their actions have on others. They are not intentionally trying to hurt you, but they just don't think before they act. I would not call these people "friends."

I know some men who do this to women they are attracted to. They are trying to impress the woman with their wealth, or their generosity, in order to connect with her. I asked one guy friend why does he do this? He said because that's the only way he can get her attention.

They probably don’t realize that this is hurting you. They re likely just trying to share their life with you and when they do something fun want to share it with you since they are your friend.

Fortunately I do not have friends like that.

People like that probably causes the price of things to go higher for the rest of us when they declare bankruptcy!

They aren't your friends if you aren't happy for their success. Them doing well has nothing to do with you not being as well off as them.
