Although I'd NEVER do that to my girlfriend, never in my life would I do that to her but I'll do it all day to anyone else, and I'll sneak out so nobody even notices that I'm gone.
Do you ever do it?

... You know, the usual stereotype of the Irish is that we drink and fight. Booze and violence, booze and violence, booze and violence- it makes you want to get drunk and hit somebody.
But that's at least got a cultural basis. Has the person who came up with that saying ever MET an Irish person? My great-grandparents came over from Ireland, and whenever someone (usually a date of someone else at the party) would complain about how long it took to leave, since making your rounds to say your goodbyes rarely took less than an hour, they'd just laugh and say this was NOTHING on how long it took back in Ireland. I thought they were exaggerating, until I actually MET some family who lived there, and I think part of me is still at that party, fifteen years later.
It's like referring to a blank, brief, passionless discussion as an "Italian conversation".
Nope only because I want to be quizzed by others to what went on…have to announce-brother in/out…see you ladies later…. Hey man, did you see/know “….” from everyone kind of stuff. Busting chops is partvtesdon to go. Having to drive one home, accidentally too sharp on curve 🤢 in their car etc 🎉

Yep, I am not one for large gatherings and I also don't like to be hugged unless it's by my wife.
