I was made to babysit my cousin and I just couldn't stop watching her every move

Still wondering is it normal cuz she is kinda old (6yrs)

Depends on how safe the house is for a 6yr old, and how she is as a 6yr old.

Kids at 6 are pretty independent, and should be able to a lot for themselves, but they are also little monkeys when they want to be :)

Relax a little until you feel you shouldn't. You'll get used to judging it.

I'm a parent of 3 girls, a few foster kids a while back, and i'm a teaching assistant at a primary school... had a fair bit of experience looking after kids.

You'll be fine, what you described is called "helicopter parenting", you're hovering over the kid watching absolutely everything. In reality what they need is some company, some play, a hug or 2, and some space, and don't forget the secret snacks and tv... shhhh !

I think it's normal for us to wonder about our cousins or nieces we babysit and wonder what they are thinking of it's amazing how they are, they have kids life with no worries just clothes on their back, 3 square meals a day with snacks in between if they want and go school or get homeschooled, etc
