Do You Like Babies/Kids?

Question

Dear G@GERS, Are you good with kids/babies? They seem to love me! I like them too but there are annoying ones for sure lol..

And there's just something about guys who are good with kids. For me (and I'm sure I'm not alone in this) it's probably one of the most attractive things ever. :P

Well, I've dedicated my life's work to children (I teach elementary aged kids), so I hope I'm good with them!

Seriously though, I have always been good with children. I remember the first time I ever held a baby (I was five years old). I remember that same baby came to stay with my family when she was a toddler and the two of us were inseparable. I decided to work with kids in my mid twenties. I never regretted it. I met my wife while working with kids, and she thought it was HAWT that I got along with them and how they got along with me. Alas, we never had kids (she could not conceive and she had a hang up about adopting... the source of many arguments between us). However, I take solace in the fact that I try to improve the quality of children's lives five days a week. AND, this question comes on the day I've been told I'm ABOUT TO BE A GRAND UNCLE! YAY!

And why not? How could I not have an affinity with people who look at the universe with wide eyed wonder? How could I not like people who peer into microscopes and telescopes with utter fascination? Why wouldn't I like people who listen intently when I tell them that marine fossils have been found near the summit of Mt. Everest (HOW DID THEY GET THERE? they always ask in utter surprise). Why wouldn't I feel an affinity to people who become awed when they hear their bodies are made of tiny cells, and how each cell is a living thing unto itself? Why not feel an affinity to people who are shocked and full of wonder when they find out that the same things which make them are also found in rhinos, butterflies, and giant Sequoias? Why wouldn't I like people who get thrilled learning how a car's engine works, or how airplanes' wings give them lift?

Now, this is not to say I am naïve of how cruel children can be. Indeed, I have witnessed spectacular feats of cruelty by children (and was guilty of them myself, when I was a kid). However, this is often because they lack the experience to give them empathy.

I like kids, and it seems that they like me too. I was the one (and still am) that entertains my cousins. It's exhausting when a 5'11 guy has to play hide and seek with his little cousins in a small apartment. Trying to sneak beneath the bed or inside the shower xD But I still enjoy being with kids. I plan and hope to have a kid when I settle down.

Babies are cute but I really prefer working with middle childhood or adolescence. I smile when I see one but other then that have no desire to hold them or be involved with that age range of childhood development, even if it is a critical one. Despite this I am good with children, and am currently studying in Child and Youth and enjoy working with them. That being said, the more I learn about children the less I actually want any of my own. I like to work with children and try to improve the institutions that are shaping them into adults but I would never want one of my own. My approach to them is more of a sociological one in that systems are failing our children and need to be reformed; hopefully in some fashion I can have a small influence in reforming traditional molds of education that constrict individuality and do not account for the diverse ways in which children learn. Honeslty, if I had children of my own to look after I believe it would interfere with the time and energy I`d have to implement into creating this change.

I love kids to their great!! I work at a childcare so I'm around them all the time. Some can be so sweet and adorable but trust me when I say this... not all kids are adorable. Some are a pain in the rear end. Though some are adorable but can be a pain in the rear end lol they have their days when their naughty but I still love them <4

I've not much experience with babies, and once they get to that 5-10 range they've stopped being as cute although they still seem to like me.
But that age where you can throw a paper airplane and they'll gaze at it in wonder and then laugh and chase after it, that's a great age.

I absolutely love them, I even help in the nursery at my church. And I agree with the guys being good with kids thing, my boyfriend helps in the nursery as well and seeing him with them is unbelievably attractive, especially if i'm holding a baby and he's doing stuff to make him/her laugh ^_^

Kids (as well as animals) are naturally drawn to me for some reason, and I'm great with them, but... I hate kids! I hate being annoyed, and other people's kids are always so loud and never shut the fuck up! I, myself, don't have children, but I do want them. I can only guess that I will not feel this way about MY kids if/when that happens, (at least I hope so).

Both A and C... It's kinda sad I don't know why but babies, toddlers, young kids, etc they'll just cry or put up a tantrum with their paretns, family, etc and when I hold them, talk to them, or just get around them it suddenly stops and they begin to smile.

I love babies especially when they get to start running. I chase my niece all around the house and we play princess and the dragon or sit and I read books with her. If we are both tired I set her in my arms on the couch and sleep until my sister gets off work.

I hate them and don't plan on having any children in my future. They cry all night, they are annoying, they are less housebroken than a dog and when they get to the age of 3 they start questioning everything they see and ask questions about all kinds of unimportant stuff.

I've got a reputation in my family, with small children, whenever any of my nieces/nephews/cousins/family friend's babies start crying or gets sleepy but won't sleep they get given to me and almost instantly they're quiet or fall asleep.
