How hard is a Cane Corso to work with?

Over the years my friends had 3 dog breeds, a Collie, a golden Labrador and a Beagle. Two of them died of old age and the one of cancer.

My friend wanted a challenge so her grandma got her a 4 week-old female Cane Corso puppy. She loves the puppy and is willing to put all the work. This is actually the first time she'll have a stronger, powerful breed. She's recently researching more about the breed.

Just to get an idea, how hard is a Cane Corso to work with? Her dog looks similar to this one:

I have to say it's cute as a puppy but they have an imposing, scary appearances as adults.

Descendants of roman dogs of war. Well trained and cared for, they will be fearsome defenders, and terribly affectionate. Lots of work.

Since my friend has no experience with any guard dog, then a female Cane Corso (generally softer in temperament, easier to train and less dominant) seems suitable for her.

I dont wager that hard long as you train it right and treat it right, but my experience is with Rottweilers, not corsos

Yeah she loves the puppy and will train it and have it socialized with people during its puppyhood. Like Rotts, Corsos are also a type of guard dog. In that case, yeah early training is needed so it doesn't bark at everyone that wants to come.
Since Rottweilers are also guard dogs, were they easy to you or hard and stubborn?

They're stubborn as hell, so you need to keep it in their minds that you're in charge, you are their alpha otherwise they'll stop listening to commands. But by and large, no it wasn't hard. They're very intelligent so they learn quickly.

and are Female Rotts more docile, less dominant and easier to train than males? There must be some truth to this article

They can be yeah, but they're no less stubborn but their protective instincts can be higher than the males.
