@HippieVeganJewslim I only listed them because I've heard them used on both or because they COULD be shortened to the male (or female) version. Like, Briana could be shortened to Brian. And, I DID know a girl in high school that called herself, Bronco! Her real name was Maureen.. (A name that COULD be shortened to Moe!) Kinda strange in that, I had an uncle Branko!
I was working for a stage magician about 15 years ago and we had a cast party after the end of one series of shows and this girl showed up that called herself, Ringo.
Laurie is the shortened form of Laurence.
A black girl that used to hang out with my band was named, Ernie. I guess it was short for Ernestine.
Vivian Stanshall was the singer for The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and he was also on the first Mike Oldfield album at the end of side one. There was also a Vivian in The Young Ones. He was the guy that had the stars across his forehead.
There used to be a local all-girl punk band called, Dress Up As Natives and one of the girls called herself Ivan Hoe.
In high school, there was a girl named, Denise who was often called, Denny or Denny Sue.
Ralph, as in, Ralph & Alf, the brother & sister handyman team in, "Green Acres". Ralph was the girl.

I see. What about Sasha? I’ve a brother, an uncle, several friends of either sex, and an acquainted male dentist with that name. Sasha is a diminutive for Alexander/Alexandra, and I see You’ve Alex.

I also remember a classmate José called everyone by the opposite gendered name: himself as Josefina, Briana to Brian, Dennis to Denise, Stybis to Stefanie, etc.

@HippieVeganJewslim Well, I said there were some I hadn't thought of, yet. I just found two more. Sonny and Drew. My ex-fiance is named, nu. In just this past year, I've seen guys on t. v. named, Anu! Jamie is another one.

Those are groovy names. I also love Tyler and Taylor, but the latter for a guy, as for a girl it reminds me of a singer. I met a girl named Tyler, so I automatically thought of Tyler as feminine.

Farah. Noor. I know how Danielle and Daniel are pronounced differently in English, but in Hebrew, the pronunciation and spelling are the same. Simcha. Morgan.

Anyway, I think most names can be unisex, except for those like Abdullah ([man] servant of G-d). The woman’s name for which is Amatullah.

Spencer, Ryan, Frankie, Sage. Especially love these names for girls even tho they can be boy names too. I tend to name my boys a little more masculine but if I had girls these would prob be their names.

I don't like unisex names at all! I just always assume they're female names, like Jackie, Jamie, Leslie, Pat, Allison, etc. Unless they're 99% used as male names, like Billy, Joe, Michael, etc.

Does Casey sound like a boy or a girl? A boy named Marvin knew a girl with that name. He always thought of it as a girls’ name.

Casey is a girl's name to me. I know there was the guy Casey Kasem, but it's still really feminine sounding. Like Julie or Cassie.

Also, I *hate* my own f*cking name! HATE IT! It's the second gayest sounding name I can think of for a male.

What is Your own name? What’s the first gayest name You can think of for a male? When I was a kid, I was known as my nickname Deniska (pronounced dinē’skä, I can’t think of any rhymes). It’s a popular diminutive for Denis in Russia, but many thought it was a girls’ name. No wonder I changed it to Abdullah!
