My parents do not like any of my friends and they don't even attempt to getting to know them. As for my older brother, they welcome his friends and get to know them and make the efforts too. They treat me like crap and abuse my emotionally and psychologically and when I react, they say my friends are teaching me this and that I need better friends. It's so upsetting and I feel so hopeless and am always left thinking I didn't do anything to them yet they blame my friends. And me for everything. They also do that to my younger bro because he took stand against them when they were abusing him and now they blame his friends for it. They also blame me saying as a sister I was an example and this is the example I set for him? I am an example because I stand for myself and speak up when they torture me. Specially my mom and they all support her even when she's wrong cuz they say she's a mother and she can never be wrong. There are the same siblings who are allowed to do anything they want and thier friends are accepted what so ever.

Yeh i know what u meaning!! I grew up here so my mentality aligns with the western culture. I moved out twice but in our culture (desi culture) it's a major step for a girl to move out unless she's married, my parents guilt tripped me to move back with them and I regret it so much 😭

No im not married, I do not believe in dowry but I believe in respect and it's seen as a form of respect to abide by his rule or at least for the guilt part that... if u know what I mean cuz he tends to say he'll kill himself if I don't return back home so that scares me

Yikes. That’s the officiating thing for Americans as Dad never really relinquishes Control. Truthfully, I don’t mind the Caste as I am acceptable in my standing there. The beliefs that result from Hindu etc are a bit difficult. My woman will follow me because I have good judgment not because she is a dog. Standing comes with her expectations and mutual responsibilities.-This is largely absent in Western world 🤷🏻‍♂️
