What should I do for the long weekend if I’m in college? Should I try going on a hiking expedition with my friends or should I do things more locally?

I’m really not sure how I want to spend my three day weekend.

There is this hike I could do that’s a one hour drive away. So I could aim to be there around eleven with my friends and still give us enough time to plan plenty of hikes during the day.

But the problem is, place I’m thinking of is a state park and so the vehicle fee is $30. So naturally when factoring in cost of fuel for transport as well (its roughly 50 miles away), I would need at least 4 people to bring the cost down to $20 a person, which still doesn’t include the cost of getting lunch on the road.

Either way still not a bad deal because I almost feel as though the value of our friendship is worth more than a single day’s paycheck.

But on the other hand perhaps it wouldn’t be such a bad thing either if I got enough guys together and we just went bowling or watched a movie or played cards at my friend’s apartment.

It’s tough to decide. Both options sound appealing. I like the stillness of nature and I’d love to just gaze out into the horizon and admire the view but on the other hand I feel as though maybe I just want to sit around and talk to people.
