How can you get your family to talk to you?

They are a family that had a lot of issues with crime, infidelity, and shame. I kind of went on by myself, and focused on my career because they stopped talking to me likely out of shame. Keep in mind I am the baby in the family, and significantly younger than anyone. I reached out to a few recently and got no answer, it is sad but they are their own people I guess besides roots, and genetics.

If they are a family of all these skeletons like you describe, and they see that you're practically the only one who's seperated yourself from that and wants to make a future for yourself, then they either don't talk to you because that makes them feel ashamed as you speculate, or because they enjoy their demons and think you're being too good for them and don't want to be bothered.

I would say that doing no contact might possibly make them wonder about you and want to reach out, but with families that often doesn't work. If they don't care about you, they're not going to talk to you, even if they might think about you from time to time. It's a sad situation, but you've already reached out to some of them and none have responded. That says a lot about how they consider you.

Oh believe me it is much worse than I can describe, but I would say some of them still have money.
