This is the 2nd time I've been called a coconut, do I really sound bad?

I hanging out with an acquaintance from college. Several topics (including politics) were discussed.

It only took 3 answers before he asked ''Are you sure you're from Colombia? How old were you when your parents brought you here''? I said 3 years old and he said ''I guess it's too late then. I'm not talking to a real latina. You're just a coconut; another disappointment, bye''.

This is the 2nd time it happened. I was called a coconut and obviously it wasn't meant in a nice way. It meant that I'm just brown on the outside but like a white person on the inside. Do I really sound bad?

No. That’s one of the shittiest things someone can say. Others are called Oreos or apples or bananas. That’s why as a Native American I never had trouble w other races or someone being racist to me. It was usually my own people. Me, having grown up in the city compared to my cousins. Often called a term in my language that meant white man because I had more exposure to things in the city. My thoughts. Don’t worry about them. They can take a flying leap off the Empire State Building. Sound like they’re closed minded about things w the whole blame whitey for everything wrong in their life.

If it really bothers you than find white friends.

They don't make sense. If I was raised in western country from an early age, had more white friends at school, then it's obvious to be westernized and assimilate to the culture.
