Have you ever mistaken someone for their twin?

It happened to me with a woman I used to work with. Her and me were fairly close and friendly with each other, and one day I ran into "her" on another floor. She was noticeably aloof and didn't recognize me. Turned out she was her twin sister and they worked at the same company. Eventually I got acquainted with her and learned to tell them apart.

This thing resurfaced yesterday because I was at the mall with my daughter and guess who walked up to us for a chat and check out the baby? It was, again one of them, and after not seeing either of them for over a year I couldn't tell them apart like I used to. Thankfully she saved me the embarrassment by telling me who she was right away.

I have met plenty of sets of twins, whether relatives, neighbors or classmates... I've never ever got them confused but I have gotten to spend time around them so I also know them better

physically, in person... they are never exactly like (not those I met anyway) there is always very subtle differences but they are always there, and then personalities, mannerisms, gestures... and sometimes style

at first glance, yes... whether along or on their own, it can be sometimes unclear which is who, and who is which, but I would never assume this I was sure, which did not take long

Yes, when I was in college there were two guys that lived on my floor. They were twins and were also roommates. I used to see them in the bathroom in the morning. I never saw them both together at the same time for months. When I finally saw them together I realized that all that time I thought that they were the same person.

I was mistaken for twins once. When I was born the doctor looked at my ass, and then my face, and then told my mother she had twins.

Yes, a guy in my wrestling team had an identical twin. It was impossible for me to tell them apart. His twin didn't go to the same school, so it was only during tournaments and meets I couldn't tell, because we wear clothes over our singlet when not warming up or wrestling.

It seems there were a lot of twins at my Jr High but fortunately at that age everyone called each other by last name so it wasn't an issue.

Grabbed a girl's behind thinking it was my girlfriend in a museum. Nearly got arrested only my girlfriend came around the corner. They were wearing very similar clothes and looked very similar to the point they looked like sisters.
