I think so. I mean I don't know his tone of voice or body language but never let your worst ideas drive your thoughts. Because let's say he meant well and you interpreted poorly. That's a disaster. Let's say he meant bad and you interpreted well. At some point you'll get enough info to stop asking Qs on this site if he's really bad.
