Do you name your pets after food?

That’s what we’ve been doing ever since Coffee. He ran away while my dad, brother and I were visiting family far off. Then the day came where Pretzel became a new addition to our family. After her it was Nala (my mom calls her Garlic), and later last year we got Papaya. Before them, we gave previous cats super lazy names like Cat, Baby Kitty, Kitty Witty, and….. I don’t remember the rest of there are any. How about you people?

No I name them after characters
One was Spaz I didn't name him the shelter did so I left it lol He was my favorite most loyal cat and was a Russian blue
Two was Kira after the killer from death note she was a cute black cat
Three was Luna named after Sailor moons cat she was a white and black cat

Growing up, we had a dog named ‘Ginger’ but she really had reddish fur. Although I remember that my parents loved to eat ginger a lot, I believe the dog was named after the reddish hue of her fur.


My sister named her now-deceased cats ‘Lollipop’ and ‘Popcorn’ which I thought was corny but understandable since my sister always had a lollipop and loved eating buttered popcorn.

We named a kitty Coco because she all brown that darkens to coffee color on her face and back feet. Her under coat is a latte color. She's a Burmese and is built like a tiny, brown panther.

I named my first dog Milo, like in The Mask. I named my second dog Noodle, because he was a Maltese Terrier, his hair looked like Noodles! I took care of an ill cat, her name was Shanya.

I have a cat named chip - he's the only food related name, tho. . I also had a cat named piper and when I was a kid we had a cat named ziggy, a dog named Buffy, and a dog named king.

No, but I wanted to name my kids after pets. I wanted to name my youngest Potato. I was going to call him Spud for short.

I've named livestock after food i. e. I had a pig named bacon. Don't think I'd name a house pet after food though

No, I always give them very straight non pet sounding names. For example I currently have a clown fish named Andrew. I also have a pet turtle called Sebastian and a Guinea pig called Rebecca.

No. I named many of my dogs after dwarf planets (like Pluto, or Eris) and others after great comrades.
