With your friends, do you ever differentiate what you talk about or discuss depending on the person?

I do with some of my friends. One friend I might be more open minded with discussing personal matters and another I might not talk about with as much or at all. Does that make a person fake if you let some friends know things that you don't let others know?

I do yes.

And no I don't think it's fake. I'm not as close to all my friends, some I've gained through a interest, work, academic - where our relationship still is very centered around that. Still care about them, they're my friends but we're not at a place where I'd be going into in dept conversations with about personal issues. I'm a private person when it comes to my personal life where I'm selective about what I share and to who I share.

Which is quite funny since I've held a couple of small lectures which included some very private things.

I do not differentiate on purpose no... but it would differ, yes... and that's by the nature of friendships

not all of my friends are alike, and I didn't meet them all at the same time and place, nor the same circumstances... they all joined me at different points of my life
