What’s your biggest problem, hurdle or challenge at this moment in your life?

Merely just fighting against my own mind with first world problems. Should I try finding a wife again? Are my mom, my sisters, and their extended family actually coming around when they said they are? Am I still in remission? Should I try to write my fantasy series for the seventh time?

I'm decent at discrete math but horrible at upper math. I don't use calculus to compute the tangent of a curve. I sample a curve a bit ahead or a bit before and calculate an approximation in a discrete fashion.

With the problems I'm working on now, I could really use a great mathematician.

Then some people might say, "You should study math more!" I've tried so hard all my life. I can't do it that well. I think in finite steps. I break down a problem in finite steps. Floating-point breaks me. I'm an integer type of person. I need my mathematicians. I just watch their minds work when they read a paper and it's like a miracle is happening.

But I'm working on this problem now. I think it could change the world if I can get it real-time. But I'm struggling to get it under 30ms. I need it to be around 10ms or less. And this is one of the rare cases where I miss my PhD mathematician who lose his job in recent pandemic years. I leaned on him in these rare times where I was approximating too much and he could come up with a more mathematically elegant solution (very often those were slower than computationally elegant solutions, but I think I have a case where mathematically elegant might also mean computationally elegant).
