A friend of mine struggles with depression and is to the point that he’s, for a good while now, been ready or wishing for death. He’s not suicidal he’s just wants something to happen to him. He’s flat broke and still doesn’t care. His family is keeping him afloat. I just wish I knew how to make him care.

I wish I had the answer because I would use it for myself too. I think if you’re a willing listener, that helps, also if you can motivate him to make small changes in his environment or routine that is helpful. Best of luck and please keep updated.
Thanks 👍🏻, I wish you the best.
Same to you.
I actually opened up to my boyfriend last night about certain struggles, like how I waste my days and don’t do anything. We just moved and there are still boxes. He told me “tomorrow, put on music or something good to listen to and just put away one box. If you feel accomplished with that you’vedone what you need to do. And you can do another box if you want.” Maybe something like that could help your friend, baby steps in a way
