Well it will hurt but only for some time I think, then when the mind adjusts, they will still remind you of the person but you'll be glad they do and you won't feel the same and that's not to mention you'll keep her DNA and family tree going, imagine just letting the family tree die with that person, I feel like that's a worse feeling and one you'll probably never really adjust too, it all depends tho lol
