Is it likely I had a twin brother?

I've always felt as if I wasn't an only child, some type of connection or something. Base on these details is it likely I had a twin brother?

- Every single time it's my b-day, my mother starts crying, then excuses herself for a couple minutes. She claims it's just out of happiness seeing me grow up but don't tell me anything else.

- For the past 5 months, sometimes I have the same recurrent dream of a boy my age that looks like my male counterpart; same hair and eye color, similar facial feature. In the dream I've asked if he's my twin brother but he just smiles, holds my hand and doesn't talk.

- When I was 4, my parents said that I used to play with my imaginary friend David, a boy my age. According to them, I'm the only one that saw him; no one else. This only lasted for a year and then I never saw him again. I don't remember this though.

Is it likely I had a twin brother that died after birth or during the early infancy?

Not sure if it is a twin but possible another sibling who could have been born before you or soon after you whom they lost. Or maybe your mom longed to have more kids but couldn't.

Maybe try and sit down with your mom or even your dad and talk to them.

Yes I wish they would just tell me the truth. I've always felt my parents are hiding something. Otherwise there wouldn't be a reason why my mother would cry every single time it's my b-day.

Losing a baby would be very painful especially if it was traumatic for them. My daughter's birth was traumatic for me and I can't really bring myself to really talk about it without crying. I can't imagine losing a baby.

I don't know where you are, but in the U. S. my birth certificate has a box to indicate if it was a singular or multiple birth and also if the mother has had a still birth / miscarriage in the past.

yeah I would have to find a way to get acess to my birth certificate. Yes I am from Hialeah, Fl. I've never seen it. Now I'm remembering something: I was at my father's private desk once (was then 7 years old) and there were some documents but they got caught me and got me out of the room. I've always felt my parents are hiding that truth from me.

If this is a spiritual experience, then perhaps it's possible or at the very least a brother in general, have you asked your parents if they ever lost a baby?

I haven't asked them directly but on my last b-day I did asked mom why she was crying. She wouldn't tell me why. She also said that she's just happy seeing me grow. I've always felt they're hiding that truth from me.

One day you should ask them, if it's not true then there's no harm in doing so and if you did, I think it's something you should know anyways so there shouldn't be any negative outcomes from just asking.

Not to mention if they did and this spiritual connection happened and you tell your parents it would bring them closure, peace of mind and maybe even some joy that their child still exists somewhere spiritually.
