It would, in America, make you their second cousin once removed. In Europe, their first cousin once removed. In Antarctica- well, I suppose it depends which base you're on.

Here, we trace from the lower generation, not the higher. Search for the closest common ancestor and count the Gs. Do you have common parents? No. Do you have common grandparents? Yes- but since you're starting from the lower, it's a great-grandparent. Two Gs, so you're second cousins. And you're one generation apart, so you're once removed.
