One of my best friends recently wanted to quit her job due to an overwhelming amount of stress. She had no savings and bills (rent, food, gas etc.) piling up. I talked to her and asked her what was so stressful. Every stressful thing she mentioned sounded like the normal part of 9 to 5 job. I urged her not to quit but if she does I dont know if we can stay friends.

What Girls Said
she's burnt out... it happens a lot. so much that the person just completely breaks down/freezes and cannot function. it's a shame america allows this to happen.
everyone deals with stress differently. just because you think it sounds like a normal 9-5, to HER it doesn't and she's having a very tough time. so maybe be a bit more considerate. because she quits her job, you don't think you can stay friends with her? i'm not sure i understand your logic.
she needs to move in with her family again or something so she can get back on her feet. today's world is fucked right now, many people are like your friend. MANY. it's scary.
I think you put too much importance on working and not enough in quality of work.
