So in school when I was 10, someone came in to speak to selected students in class just to ask some questions about our family and general stuff. We didn't know why this was, but out of a class of 30 there were about 5 of us selected.
She asked where my parents were from and things like that
What do you think it was about? We were never told. It was just to get to know us she asked about 6 questions or so.

There's no way any of us could possibly know the answer. I could probably think of 10-20 potential reasons, but it could easily be none of the ones I come up with.
I would say that the MOST likely reason is that the school was looking for minority students, perhaps particular minorities, due to some government program they were trying to qualify for. The government loves to create special programs like that, and schools will do anything to get more government money. Hell, if the government created a program where the school got $5000 for every left arm hacked off a kid at the forearm, lots of schools would have students lined up for the chop. And I'm not entirely exaggerating.
No, most of the class were a minority
About 20 out of the 30
Yes, but perhaps they were looking for a specific kind of minority. Perhaps native Americans, or Latinos, or whatever.
Well I'm not
Each one of us chosen were very different from each other.
Yo that's kinda weird they pulled you and some others outta class like that without tellin you why. My best guess would be they was tryna scope out who's families might be strugglin or need extra support maybe?
Like if you said your parents was goin through some stuff workin lotsa hours or whatever, then they'd know to keep an eye on if your grades start slippin or you seem down. Tryna find the kids who might need a little help before it gets real bad ya feel me?
Could also be they was checkin for any red flags, make sure no ones beatin you or touchin you wrong at home. Teachers gotta look out for that kinda thing sometimes.
But it's lame they didn't explain so you probably felt singled out or somethin. No worries tho dawg, they was just tryna help out how they can. Means they care you know, even if it seemed random.
Next time be sure to ask why if it ever happens again, but prob was nothin bad. You straight!
