Did my mom get ripped off?

Several months ago my mom bought a travel trailer for 5k. The owner told her she should put a tarp over it or use this waterproof stuff on the roof when it rains. I don't think mentioned any leaks. Well, it rained for the first time like a week ago, and has been raining since. My mom didn't put a tarp or anything over it. We whent into the trailer, and the whole ceiling was covered in mold, and it was leaking in several areas. I feel really bad for my mom, but she kept saying it was her fault because the seller told her to put soemthing over it. So I put a tarp over it, and I examined the roof and there were several cracks on the top, and and there was a soft area that dipped down a lot. Do you think she got tipped off?

i don't think she got ripped off. the guy did say "hey, you should put a tarp over it and use waterproof stuff on the roof when it rains". meaning, hey... this trailer is not good in the rain and you need to protect it. with any rain, there are bound to be leaks regardless. plus, with the price and it being used, i mean, you kind of get what you pay for

She pretty much knew what she was buying so she should’ve just looked for something else if you need to put a tarp over it what good is that when you’re towing it in the rain or camping out. Not sure what it would have cost if it was in good shape and not leaking

Yeah she should have walked away when she heard that it leaked.
