Did I abuse my mom?

This was years ago like in 2020. She had a cat who passed away in the same year. So the cat was an outside cat. I noticed she was very skinny. I told my mom and she didn't care, and insisted there was nothing wrong with the cat. She eventually let me take her cat to the vet where she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. She was probably already suffering. After the vet called us and gave us options my mom said she was going to do nothing and let the cat die naturally. I felt this was a disgusting thing to do and I said so. She was drunk at the time and started yelling at me and telling me the cat is fine when she clearly wasn't. I lost my temper and started screaming, and telling her that what she wants to do to her cat is fucking evil. She walked up to me and started hitting me with all her strength. She got me a couple of times but I managed to catch her wrists. I don't know. I probably didn't need to scream at her, but she didn't need to hit me either.
