My best friend was moving to another state. He rented a truck and sent his wife ahead with one for their cars/ I was going to drive the truck and he would drive an old car he inherited from his grandfather.
We got on the turnpike and he went through the tollbooth first and was going to pay for me too. After he paid the old car stalled and would not start. We had to push it to the side of the road. He was only married for a year and his wife had a kid from a previous marriage. My friend was under a lot of pressure to support them. Having the car die like that pushed him over the edge. He stated punching the car and cursing. I had to go over and put my arms around him and stopped him. I held him and told him it was all going to work out. Eventually we got the car started, I think it was just flooded. And we got on the road.
