What do you do if you're asked to babysit?

Question

My neighbors requested me to babysit their 10 year old daughter for tonight because they both have something urgent related to work

I never had a little sibling nor do I have any experience baby sitting.. I have no idea what to talk/ask or do LoL...

I am mainly confused about what to cook for the night , cause I am sure she would hate the usual boring meals I have haha (Healthy though)

Well it's only the first time, you'll get used to it

So basically you have to act like a big brother , and you don't have to think about what you should talk cause they'll do the talking LOL... just be a good listener and give good feedbacks

You can pamper her but make sure she does the homework else she'll blame you at the school next day (My little sis does that often)

And since it's just for today, get her everything she wishes to eat... probably something sweet... cheesecake, ice cream, donuts, chocolates etc etc

There'll be something she loves watching in TV or Youtube.. a show or a movie or something, or a movie she wants to watch, or maybe go for a movie if she's interested (Probably yes)

And last but not the least, ask her parents at what time she should sleep and put her to sleep at that time however with all this she would rather be willing to not kill the mood and stay awake the whole night, but don't make it too late haha

ANd all this comes with a warning... she'll be adamant to come over to your house often and might end up not leaving when her parents are back

Just make sure you've got plenty of baby food and formula on hand when they leave. Other than that, it's probably not much different from supervising the crybabies that most of your friends with benefits's call boyfriends... lol

Like, I have three kids, so there is no problem from my side. If I have time when they would need help, I can babysit :D

10 years old is quite communicative. She will probably spend the whole time on her phone, so don't expect too much. I would suggest meeting her earlier with her parents at home so she feels comfortable with you. Also, make some arrangements with her and her parents about the time she should go to bed, what and when to eat and so on...

Askt he neighbours and explain you don't really have experience with it.
They should then be able to help talk you through basics ya need to know, and perhaps takeaway/delivered food and some electronics/TV shows they can watch or activities they are known to enjoy to help you.

That's cute lol, you can do a lot of things like help her with the homework, hangout with her after asking her where she wants to go, go for a movie , buy her donuts or whatever she likes...

When I babysit I always make up games that we can play or make up a once upon a time story... Or Ask her parents to bring some games with them that they like to play.
