If you live far away from your child, how do you make them believe your love for them

Whatever the reason (s) may be that you cannot be with your daughter, you have shown in the past that you did care for her.

It seems that your daughter has hit puberty and at that age, there is a lot going on and there is a permanent storm hitting their brain as her hormones are preparing her for adulthood with all the implications this change may have on the relationship with you. There are more downs than ups but those changes will eventually settle. Not today and not tomorrow but they will change. You have gone through them as well, perhaps not to the same extent as she does.

Perhaps you can send her a letter, in which you express your sorrow and heartfelt despair not to be with her. A letter (not a text or video/voice message) has much more impact than to call her.

If she does not want to talk to you right now, then perhaps that a letter from you may have a different impact on her. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

Thank you all for your concern. I most say that I'm grateful. But my child wouldn't reply to my email

It is understandable. She probably blames you for a number of things that happened in her life without perhaps understanding the full story behind it. You have to give her time to get over the situation she is in and that is why I tell you to write a letter (not an email).

Writing a letter is so much more personal and you can convey more feelings than just an email. It is a difficult situation but I am sure that eventually, she will realize that you do care for her.

that's too hard. the way children feel loved is through constant contact, fun activities, quality time, etc.

It is tough to be away from your child when they are young and they'd not understand but when you come home, all is forgiven very quickly as theybare very happy to have you home. Love is unconditional with a child and mad or not, they love you and they instinctively know you love them.

Unfortunately I cannot. I used to be Ubermoderator but even they could not do anything about the age issues.

The only thing is to write a note to GaG and explain. She is by far not the first person to have this issue. She can use this form. Good luck.
