Has anyone noticed that when nice people defend themselves, they are viewed as rude/disrespectful?

Many times in my life I noticed how when nice people defend themselves many people say they are being disrepectful or rude when the nice person didn't do anything wrong.

Double-standards are seen everywhere. It sucks. But, there’s a lot of people that lack awareness. If you say something even remotely perceived as disrespectful, you’ll be put on blast. But, they can disrespect you all day and they’ll gaslight you if you speak up about it. It’s double-standards that difficult people expect everyone around them to accept. These are the people who act as if the world revolves around them.

Yes. Usually by the people they are defending themselves from! Those people can get away with murder but, the second you stick up for YOURSELF against what they've said or done to you, YOU'RE the bad guy!! Never fails!!
