+1 yThey come to you when they're interested in being with you and aren't slavishly dependent. Dogs need you. You're their pack leader.
Cats don't need a leader. They're their own leader, just like you are. You feed them and pet them and they purr in gratitude. But when they're tired of your company, they're off on their own explorations. I always had indoor outdoor cats and I believe they need to have that freedom.
I had one cat that had a car accident, but was injured, not killed. And I had half a dozen cats. Others had no problem staying out of the street. So all t his you need to keep your cats indoors to protect their lives is overarching. My last cat lived 17 years, and was known around my entire block. He was friendly and hung around my sofa for pets from my young son, who adopted him off the street when he was 7 months old and my son was 3.
With them having outdoor lives, they aren't bored or destructive when indoors.
Dogs, however, need people to interact with and hang around. I've met a few that seem rather self-possessed, like a cat, but they're rare. And the walking and picking up poo after them.. Nope.
Last cat went outdoors and under my house. He'd wait at the door until I let him out and would meow to be let back in. Very polite.

You can leave the poop on the ground
- +1 y
@verylovelyman So children and other people can step in it. You're a poor neighbor and are spreading disease carrying filth. Please stop.
- +1 y
whatever. not my problem
- +1 y
@verylovelyman If it's left by YOUR dog, it is your responsibility to clean it up. Completely your problem.
+1 yI love both,
Currently I have a pup, he is 1.5 year old, 45-50 kg, at home back in my country, he sleeps between my mom and dad, like a baby.
And he is so happy, he sighs of happiness before he goes to sleep.
I love him so much…
It feels like he is all love, just he has a shape of a dog. He knows nothing but how to love.
For the cats, I have never had my own, but I’ll definitely get one when I settle in one place.

+1 yDogs! They have brains, you can teach them to do cool things, they guard your house while you're away, they're very easy to take care of, they don't throw their shit, food and litter all over the floor, they don't suddenly attack you for no reason, they're great, caring companions and they don't fuck your furniture or record collection by using it as a scratching post!
When's the last time you saw a t. v. show like, "Lassie" or, "Rin Tin Tin" based on a cat?00 Reply dogs normally
but i love feline love language more, i don't like the licks or rubbing butt or bellies, i prefer rubbing faces and hugs.
so ideally speaking i would want a male lion if i could have any animal.

+1 yI love both. Our cat Charley Farley is a 7.5 kilo monster. Alwas hungry.
I still miss our Border Collie, Meg Dog, who passed on 8 or 9 years ago. Only 6 years old.07 Reply- +1 y
Sounds like Chris Farley! 😅 My aunt had a cat that was 12 kilos and would always want to crawl up on my chest while I was laying on the floor watching TV, which made it hard to breathe. lol He was a great kitty though. He lived to be 17, which is a miracle, given his size, and he lived an incredibly comfortable and pampered life. lol

@Adventurer23 Are you sure it wasn't a tiger? LOL!
- +1 y
@Jessica405 Well, he was a black tabby, so sorta! 😂
- +1 y
@Adventurer23 Dangerous stuff! 🤣
- +1 y
@Jessica405 Well, not to be too TMI or anything, but the only time it got "dangerous" was there were a couple times when he stepped on, and crushed my "grapes" while climbing up on top of me. lol 😨 Other than that, he was a sweetheart of a kitty. 😊... Errrrr, tiger. lol
- +1 y
@Adventurer23 Painful! 😫
- +1 y
@Jessica405 Heh... very. I remember the one time he did it I was asleep, which was a rude awakening. lol The worst part was when I was doubled over in pain, I rolled over with him in my arms to sit him down on the floor, but when I rolled over he clung onto my T-shirt with his claws and wouldn't let go. 🤣 So, I just had to ride it out with a cat clung to me. 😂
I like both, cats are my favorite. I'm surprised at the poll though. Was expecting more dog lovers

+1 yActually I like both, as well cats as dogs, but at home I prefer by far cats, because their independant nature fits best my own nature. By the way, I still have two cats (^,^)

+1 yI love dogs and have nothing against them, (as some fanatics do just because they possess the other animal as a pet) but cats and all cat animals have always occupied first place in my heart and I have a lovely norwegian forest cat.

Norwegian Forest cats are majestic AF. lol 👍
I prefer cats. They're easier to take care of and not always clamoring for your attention round the clock. And I can leave food on my plate when I leave the room and they won't gobble it up. I do like dogs too, but not really as pets.

02 Reply- +1 y
Yes you can. My aunt's cat played fetch for hours. It's a misconception you can't train cats. It's just most people don't know they can, or don't know how it's done.
