Which do you prefer: dogs or cats?

I'm fundamentally a dog person. A dog companion kind of suits my personality better.

Yet I've grown to adopt a couple of stray cats (one with a hip fracture, the other with feline stomatitis -- rush to vet and end up keeping them sort of deal). I've grown really fond of them.

They're still stereotypical cats all temperamental: loving your attention one moment and then pretend like you no longer exist another. There's kind of this endearing quality to it though like you earned their attention and purring. Still, they tend to make me question who the master is of my own house. :-D I've also had to cover my walls with double-sided tape since they like to scratch them even though we have multiple scratch posts for them.

Dogs, but I am not opposed to cats either. Just prefer dogs.

Dogs normally, however my neighbours cat has adopted me, so split between both.
