When was the last time you took your momma out to eat?

My mom has been gone for five years now, I’m trying to remember. It was probably when I was a kid, since we didn’t live close when I was an adult and I mostly just saw her on holidays. I do remember taking her out to lunch one day and paying for it when I was maybe 15 or 16, finally had a job, walking around with money in my pocket, haha. Took her to a sit-down Italian place that specialized as a brick oven pizzeria. It was a nice day, I’m glad I was able to do it😊

I was planning to this week for her birthday, but I have the flu so I just got her a bottle of wine, a card and told her she had a raincheck on dinner. So will hopefully fulfill that in the next month or so.

You know there's studies that say that spending time with your mother might help her live longer, I don't take her out to eat much but I spend time with my mamma and I don't deny her presence, some people treat their parents like shit, it's crazy lol

My mum has Alzheimer's so I don't take her out often because the drive terrifies her. We went out to family at Christmas and I thought she was going to shit herself based on the noises she made on the five minutes we were in the car.

I'd like to take her on holiday with us in a couple of months but it's a three hour drive away and I'm not sure her nerves (or mine) would take it.
