Is it normal to be upset that other babysitters gives the rest of us a bad reputation?

More familes in my neighborhood have lately grown very distrustful of babysitters. Given by the news of infant deaths caused by babysitters, I don't blame them. They don't want to hire babysitters. Instead they leave their baby with the maternal/paternal grandmother or another trusted female family relative.

I'm just pissed off at the babysitters that appear on the news, that get charged with killing those poor innocent babies. Yet, there is me... who had babysat before (I was 8 the first time I took care of a baby, with adult supervision), checks on the baby frequently making sure they are ok, well fed and smiling, communicate with the parents, etc. Seems like a loving, fun and easy job.

My mind puzzles. Why would anyone want to hurt a baby? Personally I wish I had 5 minutes alone with those nasty babysitters who hurt babies. Is it normal to feel that upset. That because of them, the rest of us pay the price. The horrible babysitters give the rest of us a bad reputation.

Given how the news are getting with babysitters, if I was a mother yeah I wouldn't trust just anyone. I still don't understand how on earth that can be stressful. I think that's the most loving job.

and if the baby is crying nonstoppable, what's so hard about calling the parents or 911? Maybe they can be having terrible colics.
