Just saw this video and i wonder do you or a family member or have a friends that have autism? I know 2 autistic people one of them is in diapers and the other one has a higher IQ than you and me but suck at social skills he loves history and can talk about it for hours you can't get a word in lol

I think some of my colleagues might be on the spectrum. They're really bright but they are completely lacking in social skills.

One of the ones I suspect most to be on the spectrum is incredibly bright. He has two doctorate degrees in physics and computer science and is renown in the industry for contributing innovative research in fluid dynamics (simulating fluids realistically on computers). Yet he's so dry and can seem cold even though he's not. He's never mean to anyone but just so expressionless.

He also argues all the time about trivial things. For example, he once argued with our designer for hours over the choice of the color red for warning icons. He said it's completely arbitrary and illogical (his favorite word was "illogical" and used it all the time). Yet the designer as well as the rest of us kept pointing out that it's a common industry standard to use red for warning and danger signs, like stop signs:

Yet my colleague kept arguing that even stop signs are completely arbitrary and illogical for using the color red. I suppose that's true if we think like robots but we're psychological and emotional creatures and I suspect that there's more than just industry standards that govern why we associate the color red with danger, like the color of blood. Still, he just kept arguing and arguing that it's illogical.

He can be difficult to work with sometimes but extremely smart. We need him on our team.

One of his superpowers that seem absolutely superhuman is that he can read a math-heavy paper related to an algorithm in computer graphics and visualize the results of the algorithm in his head just from the mathematical functions provided.

I have to spend whole days prototyping the paper to even understand how it works and what exactly it does. He spends 15 minutes reading the paper and can understand all of this without even having to prototype.

Brothers high functioning has a amazing memory and academically bright but god awful social skills which is pretty normal

he is a good guy but sometimes gets angry easily
