What makes someone a bad parent?

The list is endless, but someone who would allow their kids to wander the streets, free to join gangs is up there near the top!

I mean the only thing that can make you a bad parent to your child is by not being there or being involved in any way, and even then it doesn't necessarily mean your a bad parent because sometimes a parent wants to be involved but isn't allowed to be by either the other parent or by the courts. The belief of anyone else's opinion on parenting other than the children you take care of doesn't matter, people will judge if you don't fit into the way they see things, there isn't a standardized way to parent there's no one way that is how it happens there will never be equality amongst children or parenting unless we start to raise our children as a community in my opinion the only right way to parent and what ultimately makes you a good one is by being there as long as your involved and trying to do your best for you and the child you are on the right path!

My sister tends to think she’s a bad mom but she doesn't even realize how we notice how much she sacrifices for her son. She still stays with out parents (I do too) she doesn’t have a college degree, she works a normal job so provides him with all he needs without the help of the father. The smile on her face when she runs around the house with him, reads to him, sings nursery rhymes, jokes around with him, teaches him etc even when she’s missing sleep and tired, you see just how real her nurturing nature is but she often gets down. She starts to feel like because she doesn’t have it all together financially and still stays with our parents that she’s doings bad but she isn’t. She just has to realize she isn’t perfect. A “perfect” parent isn’t a good parent. A good parent is a good parent.
