Who else still feels like a kid in their head even though they’re an adult?

Yes. In my head, I am all the ages I've ever been - 6, 16, 26, 36, 40, 50, ...
The age of my basic personality is my early 20s - fun loving, free-thinking, devil may care.
I didn't grow up to be an authority figure. I actually distrust and resent authority.
That isn't to say that I haven't become much wiser and more knowledgeable.

Meeee! I'm also poisoned by being around HS kids all day who are optimistic and haven't been beaten down by life yet. Their optimism is INFECTIOUS and I buy into it all day and then go home to realize it's false!!

Yeah I sometimes still feel like a kid except when I have to pay rent or bills and taxes. Then that thought goes out the window fast.

it's normal to keep that side of you till you die. but as an adult the difference is that you know when it is ok to let that side of you play out and when you can not do that.

I consistently forget my age and how long ago HS was. Then I remember I literally did 6 years in the military got out and have 2 college degrees... I still kind of think of myself as 18

I do, very often. I fairly often have burst of imposter syndrome when I'm working.
