Not too often, really. I live like 90 minutes from my nearest friends. I do have some buddies from beer league hockey, but we don’t really kick it like that, we just play once a week and hang around for some beers afterwards. But I don’t really know anything about them, haha, we just have a common hobby.
My long-time friends, from college, they’re the ones who are an hour and a half to two hours away. Plus most of them, at our age, are kind of swallowed up in family man life, they have young kids, etc, so free time is rare. Honestly, I maybe catch them once or twice a year. I have an annual fishing trip every spring with kind of “The Core Four”, and one of them usually hosts a Super Bowl party every year, so those are the two definite times I’ll see them.
One of them just bought a lake house a couple years ago too, so that’s an option and a pretty open invite, but it’s like a 3 1/2 hour drive, so I’m not that motivated to go, they’re closer at 90 minutes, haha. But I’d say, at most, I see them maybe four times a year. I’m just kind of off in no man’s land relative to everything I have going on, I even have to travel almost an hour for hockey 😖
We sometimes get together once or twice a month. A lot of the time I help out their families with running kids to appointments, I've done it so many times the kids call me uncle. If it's towards the end of the day, I end up staying with them and having dinner to catch-up.
For the friends I live close to, I try to make time for them every other weekend. Just meet up at one of our favorite hangouts for a little while. Usually at a bar we all like for drinks, some pool, little dancing, etc. For friends that live far, that's tough. I do travel any chance I get. Boils down to who's available when I have my pto
For the last couple of years it was every week to every other week. We'd go eat, watch movies, just chill together. But lately it's been more like every other month lol we talk on the phone and text to keep each other updated on things going on in our lives.
I wish... I could see them more often than I do, but not all of them leave near enough at the moment, a few of them still do live near enough or right here
and with them I do meet three to four times a month, if we have the time and the chance, I do wish we could have more time and chaces to meet yes, but it's also true that it's been like that for a bit while now, and we're used to it too... and it is not a big deal, not a big problem either... we just focus on quality over quantity nowadays and of course, we do compensate with being in contact online, and that's pretty much every single day
About once or twice a month with some of my gal pals for foot night. My kink friends I also see once a month. Then I have a few gaming friends I talk with regularly. Anyone else is kind of random.
We used to hang out at least once a week when I was in high school, sometimes more often, but now that I’ve graduated not so much. But hopefully when I’m in college I’ll meet a whole new circle of friends to hang out with.
Quiet often I would say it’s a monthly thing… we all live near by eachother as well so it makes things easier… we all been rocking with eachother since 5th grade and now were grown… wouldn’t trade it for anything else.
Twice per week is the average. Sometimes more sometimes less. It really depends. Sometimes it might even be a month but we go out more often to make up for the lost time. Also some of my friends are abroad but when they come to visit I see them more often or when I go visit them I see them daily. It honestly depends.
I see them once or twice a week, it also happens sometimes we see more but it’s rare. Once in a month I see other acquaintances. Let’s say I consider my colleagues some sort of friends and I see them daily 😂
Monthly at best, dinner, drinks, or coffee. Some of my friends we play 🎸 together. Occasionally travel... But at our ages and especially friends w kids that's few and far between.
Almost everyday a girl or two is visiting me. Since I don’t have to work, all my time is free time. We usually cook on the bbq or go out for lunch or dinner, then lots of time for sex.
It varies between friends. Some every few weeks. Some monthly. It also depends how far away they live. Some only every few years and some are long-distance only.
Yes of course that is one of the reasons. There are other reasons also. I will mention a few important ones:
1. The person must at least try to understand me. I mean why I am the kind of person I am and the way I do things. I am not expecting "acceptance". If the person accepts me well and good otherwise it is fine as well. Hence if I see that there is no understanding from the person in regards to me then I will cease contact with the person. Simple.
I am sure you understand the difference between "understanding and acceptance"? Right?
2. I have standards for friendship as well. The person has to be compatible with me to a great extent in order for the person to understand me and for to get along well. That way I will ensure there are no disagreements, fights, arguments. If there is no compatibility then there is no friendship for me.
3. I am particular about communication skills. Like the person has to respond fast, reply reasonably fast. If the person is poor in communication then friendship cannot last. Some people have the attitude " I have my whole life to reply and respond" and they tend to take their own sweet time. I won't accept such an attitude. Hence no friendship with such a person.
4. If I ever come to know that the person has a nature to play manipulative mind games, even if I suspect that then I will cease contact with that person instantly.
5. Yes, I am always serious, honest and straightforward. Hence for the other person there is very little margin for error, there is no place for jokes, pranks and having fun in cheap and silly ways.
Hence given how I am, given the way I take my decisions it is very tough for people to stay in my life for long.
