You talk to them when they ask questions. By avoiding all questions about sex when they are young you teach your children that sex is embarrassing. By lying to them about Santa Claus you teach them that lying is OK. That they can’t trust you.
Always ask about things. Always be truthful. Always give your kids a reason to trust you.

I think its not something to do in one sitting... maybe over time we should keep telling them about it gradually but when its really needed... i think around 13 to 14

13-15.. that is when the puberty Hits, to some will hit hard to some not so much, but as soon the signs start to show, or the questions become heavy, then is good to have "the talk".

The talk should occur frequently in different forms and change in detail and language used to match their developmental level beginning as toddlers and continued through teen years
