Is it asking too much much to try to live a normal life as other people would?

As a person on the autism spectrum I don’t have any friends I came out of an extremely abusive relationship a year ago. I don’t have very much family

I somewhat know a guy who is autistic. He belongs to a couple of clubs and social groups and lives a somewhat normal life. He even had a girlfriend for a long time but I don't know what the status is on that now.

Sad how the autism spectrum is one of the go-to excuses for people who are failing in one or more aspects of their lives.
