Biracial people, do you feel like you have to pick a side?

Growing up, I was good friends with a girl named Jordan. Her mom was Black and her dad is Italian. We hung out in a multicultural group. As we got older, she stopped hanging out with us and would start only associating with white people. Now she doesn’t even talk to us at all and unfollowed most of us on Instagram.

The last time most of us were together was at our friend’s funeral a couple years ago. After the service she made a post about how much she’d miss him even though she barely talked to him anymore then unfollowed him. At his repass, she kept bragging about how much she loved white boys, our friend was mixed, it was really weird.

Most recently, her mom died. Since her parents were divorced, her mom made her the beneficiary. As soon as she got the check, she went and got a boob job. Now she’s a content creator and goes by a name similar to Mia Khalifa’s. I think she’s really confused and it’s sad to see her like this. She was a joy to be around as kids and even early teens. But now, she’s a completely different person.
