Are you a good friend or a bad friend?

I am going through a difficult period right now. I had to make some difficult decisions for my spouse, and I had to be strong beside him during these trying moments. I lost so-called friends and experienced public humiliation and ridicule. I made a decision that appeared to be the best decision. We are both fine with our decision, but it has prompted folks to avoid me while viewing me differently in public.

I’m not the best when it comes to being friends. I don’t check up on people often and I rarely like to hang out. I rather be that therapist they occasionally go to for advice and vice versa. But other than that, friendships require and expect a lot of time and attention that I’m just not willing to offer

I think I am, I've had pretty much the same friends since I was in middle school. I also make friends fairly easy.

Bad as I only text when I need / want to talk then ignore them when I don't want to talk. I only ask them news on their life to appear polite but don't actually care for their responses and I ignore the question I don't want to respond to.

They always comeback to talk to me directly so I guess I'm not so bad in the end.
