Have you experienced character defamation bullying?

My niece in highschool is going through a rough patch where she is experiencing some bullying.

What kind of advice can you share on how to deal with bullies who are spreading rumors about her?

Yes, like 10 years ago. My former roommate told her fuck buddy that I was a prostitute. One time when we bumped into him, for some strange reasons he wanted to attack me with a helmet. I suspect there was something else other than telling him I was a “whore” because why would he wanted to beat me up? Someone stopped him and I was all ready to defend myself if he ever lifted his finger on me. I confronted her but she refused to admit. She finally get kicked out from the apartment for not paying her rental. I avoid befriend any women since then. I am not risking my life because of their stupid jealousy.

I had the EXACT same thing happen to me in k-12. It made my life pretty rough (there were a lot of other things going on that made things worse for me though)

In situations like that, all you can do is live your life in a way that contradicts the rumors and confront the people spreading them where you can. Sunlight is a great disinfectant.

You have remember and realize that the people spreading lies about your neice are just pulling random things out of thin air that they know aren't true to screw with her. They don't care that it's not true. They're just being awful people. The best defense is to show other people that they're being awful.

I had this, so i tell people "i heard something bad about you".

I say, "i didn't believe it , i hope you don't believe bad stuff about me".

If it’s in the free public education, then either she is bullied to her grave or she is removed from school and home schooled for a while to rebuild and recover her soul. Free school teachers and the system doesn’t care.

I have heard of kids committing suicide. I don't want that to happen even if the possibility seems distant.

I doubt she has revealed everything and I don't want her to have overly negative thoughts.

no i got into fights bc of standing up for myself and had to move schools. literally my school's administration was kinda useless and probably couldn't do anything even if they wanted

im saying she's just gotta deal with it bc it's probably not gonna stop even if you do something try to stop it

Hmm I see. Did you move to another school in the area or far away? I have heard people move but then the bullies tried to get bullies to bully them at the new place or something of the sort. Sounds a bit surreal but I guess its possible.

It was really terrible and bad but I let it die down like stage of my life has passed and it made me emotionally stronger
