So my grandparents left behind a small trust fund for me on my dad's side. I'll be honest. I've been incredibly irresponsible and have spent thousands on bs I don't need. My mom and dad both have access to my bank statements and my mom has gotten on my ass for my spending a few times. I tried to stop, but I kept impulse buying. It was really bad. Finally my dad who I respect a lot more than my mom called me a few days ago, and asked what was going on. I was honest and told him I was spending it on crap I didn't need. He didn't seem real mad. He just said that we need to cancel my credit card, and put the money where I can't access it. He said that we could put a certain amount torwards my bills, but that's it. Nothing I don't need. I agreed right away, because I'm pretty sure it's for my own good. Well I was talking to my dad on the phone today, and he said that I don't need to cancel my debit card if I could just stop spending, and just put it torwards my bills. I feel I could control myself, because I really don't want to let my dad down, as it would most likely significantly damage our relationship. I told my mom this, and she told me that I can't control myself and that she already made an appointment at the bank to have another account made, and my card canceled. Do you think that'd be the wisest thing to do?

I feel it's right thing to do. It's not easy to have money. And money can make future or can spoil it. So it's very important to learn how to use it for our good. And if someone in our family is stabbing themselves to the death it's others responsibility to save them.
So till you are able to understand the value of money and till you get the real reason to use your money for your growth you better should stay away from that and invest them in some fixed deposits or some risk free bonds. So that money also keep growing there while you are not touching them.
To earn money we need money. Money is very important resource what many don't have. You have it then learn to respect that and understand it's value.
Your parents have too much view into your accounts
Renounce to money if they don't back off
spend it on things that make you money.
