Do most people enjoy luxury items?

I’m from a richer family and grew up not being a snob, but being used to the very best things money could buy. Most of my friends are from poorer families and get excited about the beautiful things I give them, the nice art and other belongings that they never had before they knew me.

For me, it wasn’t a big deal. I was treating them how my family treated me. Because I assumed everyone treated each other this way. I was brought up to share.

My point is not to brag or big note myself, but to observe that I’ve always taken luxury items for granted.

I was a poor white trash idiot that barely made it out of school. Worked a few years in factories. The same idiot scumbag laborers use the same materials to make the same junk. At the end of the production line one belt slaps on a "Northern Face" table amd sells it to Target for a dollar and they sell it for 8 and on the other line they slap a Prada table on it and they sell it to Prada for a dollar and they sell it for $120 luxury items? No. I look for quality.

Your past helped to make you who you are now and I’m sure it has given you more character than a lot of well off people.

I am from a rich family, but I’ve grown up with lots of health issues that have made me develop more character and sense than some rich people. Also, my parents worked their guts out for their wealth.

Like for example- if you gave a guy who can barely afford to support his family a million dollar car, he wouldn't even be able to afford the car insurance. Or if you give a valuable painting to a friend who had a couple of mischievous little kids, they would have to make sure their kids aren't coloring on the painting with crayons and markers and it would be a source of stress. Or if you gave a Rolex watch to somebody who lives in a bad neighborhood, they were constantly be worried about getting robbed for it. Luxury items have their time and place.

I come from lower middle class family but not poor. Never had luxury items still it doesn't attract me much. I go for quality. Ofcourse some expensive items does come with better quality but I prefer balance between how much is ok to pay for things what keeps how much importance in my day to day life.

For example, clothing enhance the personality so it's important but I'm not going to spend for expensive brands for that when I can get better look in affordable price will decent quality. Similarly I don't see point on spending money for luxury cars or watchs. No need to go for dimond ring to prove love and commitment. But because of longevity of gold jewellery than the artificial one I'll spend my money there to have a gold necklace or ear tops.

Some of them. I don't particularly care how much something cost, I care if it's fit for purpose. Some simple luxuries I have or have had: a Breville toaster oven, a Nojirushi rice cooker, a YSL sweater (found at a thrift shop), a BMW 328 sedan, a Stickley dining room set (OfferUp, $800), a couple of Persian rugs (Craigslist), an inlaid prewar dresser (Craigslist, $300).

Many like when other's know just how luxury or rare their items are. If there wasn't that aspect, I imagine everything would be more purpose driven/practical.
