No, nudity was something that was absent within the family I grew up in. You dressed and undressed within the privacy of your own bedroom, you showered within the privacy of a closed bathoom.
Neither my wife nor I will close the bathroom door when we get a shower. We don't close the bedroom door when we go to sleep. Of course, with a teenage daughter, I wouldn't walk around the house naked. Basically out of respect. My wife will without a problem.
As a reaction to the prudishness I've been taught was the norm during my childhood and early adult life, I've now started to frequent nude beaches. It's liberating, to say the least. It's a novelty I'm still getting used to.

11 moI used to know a lady who was nudist and she raised her two kids in that culture. Actually I didn't quite "get it" with the whole thing, but to each their own I guess. She always said that "it wasn't sexual" and the nudism was unrelated to sexuality. It was just a certain lifestyle choice to be around other people naked. I guess they found it liberating? I don't know.

11 moSemi. I mean it was never a lifestyle and not in public. But my family was always relaxed about things. My little ones are being raised to not be ashamed. But I have taught them that it is polite to put clothes on when people outside the family come over. I don't want people looking at them in an inappropriate way. it's for their protection.

A similar question was asked about this and nobody believed that I know someone on G@G that grew up in a nudist family. Of course I didn’t mention your name so I’m glad to see your reply today. 💕- 11 mo

Anonymous(45 Plus)11 moNo, I grew up in a family that was somewhat puritanical. I have never shed that upbringing entirely, but I once had a family where we were all comfortable lounging around in our underwear and sleeping nude at night (with bedroom doors open.) Ended with divorce for other reasons.
My current and forever wife and I live alone and we are very comfortable being naked in our house but not around other people.
20 ReplyWasn't raised in nudist family or that type of way but me and sis never had issues seeing each other naked lol

11 moNo but I guess that would have been interesting and probably be more open minded and not ashamed of our bodies

Ashamed huh?
So, the only way to not be "ashamed" is to just walk around naked in front of a bunch of people.
Logic seems off. - 11 mo
@Miristheiss no, it means we should be more comfortable in our skin and not feel shame
Yes. Once but that was my second family. My first family didn’t and my previous 4 didn’t either. My 3rd family however was a pack of dogs and they raised me as a cat strangely enough. 🤷🏻♀️

11 moUm, no. But my mom and dad weren’t exactly shy either. They weren’t nudists, but saw them both plenty of times, and they didn’t hesitate to take me to nude beach on holiday in France when I was a kid

11 moNo, my parents kept their clothes on. We luved in the cold NORTHEAST US. You'd freeze if you ran around naked. 🙄

11 moThankfully: not :D
Because... I never could have been interested in sexuality, if I would have seen what I still don't want to see.

@Paige90 - I'm used to be wrong. And that's just the right thing for myself.
Not raised, but met. It's when I was traveling and we all went to the beach. They were used to nudity and they forgave my erection (since I couldn't handle it).
