I don't know my sister it was very weird with her. I was like the nice kid that followed the rules so she was the crazy rebellious one and I think she resented me for making her take on that role because I took up all the space of being the nice kid. And so she never liked me much as soon as she was like 11-12 she wanted to be left alone. But instead she became quite successful career wise she had a big drive from not getting enough attention and love as a kid I guess. I don't know. To me it seemed like she put herself in that position but I don't know what it would feel like to be her so I don't know. As kids we mostly did get along. I don't wish I was an only child but we also never had a bond as siblings so I don't know it's a weird situation. She resented me and rejected any kind of relationship but later on she expected me to restart the relationship or something. But to me she's like a stranger. I don't have any connection with her. She didn't want to be around the family and that was her choice. I don't really see the point of reconnecting now it'll never be the same as if we were close growing up.

Between all my siblings and half-siblings, sometimes I feel like I was a number that needed to stand out. My oldest half-brother is 46 and my youngest is 19, just to give an idea.

No because when your parents die then all the responsibility falls upon you if you're an only child. It's a lot of pressure vs having siblings to help carry the burden. When I was younger, I didn't understand this but now that I'm older, I realize how important it is to have siblings when you think about serious stuff like parents dying. It would be such a lonely feeling if you were an only child.
