Why does my brother not want me to date one of his friends?

I have a twin brother, we are both seniors in high school and I recently started seeing his friend.

He freaked out when I told him, I've never seen him that way, he was really mad about it and I have no idea why. I wouldn't mind if started seeing one of my friends, actually I think that'd be very nice.

I never really had a boyfriend but I have been dating before and he's never been that way. Also we are pretty close, I talk to him about my dating life all the time and never seemed to be an issue for him but why is it now?

I don't want to say that he's acting this way for any certain reason but just a few things to think about.

1. He could be trying to protect you...just because he's your brothers friend doesn't mean he's one of the nice guys that's important to remember.

2. He could be uncomfortable with you dating one of his friends.

3.Or he doens't want to loes that particular friend if you guys break up

Those are really the three main reasons that I can see but I know that my brother would have no problem with me going out with one of his friend...but he is my brother so a friend he could trust and approve...you need to sit down and talk to your brother about it though..its important to know what he's really thinking..not what we think he is

Oh and if you really like this boy that your dating you need to be sure your brother knows that as well...if you're close like you say then he should calm down and just be happy that your happy..and since your close I have to assume that the problem is the certain friend you choose...and not the fact that you chose one in the first place =)

I really do like him and I can't imagine he's a total jerk. I never would have thought he'd have any issues with him dating his friend either, that came as total surprise.

They don't have to stop seeing each other, just because we break up, although I see what you mean

Then don't give up and express that to your brother I'm sure he'll understand..and ha ha well I had to throw that cause in there it just seemed logical..but you know boys know boys better then girls know them...and yah they don't but you're his sister he'll logically take your side..and it's just kinda hard to be friends after the fact..believe me you have to feel it to understand..my brother dated on of my friends and she was a total..haha witch to him..she bad mouthed him a lot after..which..

You sound like a dummy asking this question. If the guy was all that great and wonderful, your brother wouldn't care. The reasons are obvious. There are millions more guys in this world so why don't you just back off and move onto someone else.
