How good are you at carving Halloween pumpkins?

The photo shows a wholesome American family prepping a pumpkin for Halloween. The brother is steadying it while his sister scoops out the flesh, and the mother looks on, ready to make some nourishing soup. It's a scene that'll be played out across countless homes.

But let's be honest, some people are better than carving than others. So are you the type who does a triangle nose and eyes with zigzag teeth, or do you do complex multi layered designs?

I've carved a lot of jack o'lanterns in my life. I can get pretty creative, but I only carved faces.

One year, I went to a Halloween party where there were kids present and everyone got a pumpkin to carve. Then they lined all the jack o'lanterns up on the cinder block wall with lights inside. It was really fun.

Another time, we went to a house on a hill surrounded by gnarled oaks. They had hundreds of really creative jack o'lanterns on the hill lining the walkways. And there was spooky music. It was incredible.

I’ve done some good ones, but it’s kind of a lot of work for something so temporary. So i don’t tend to put a lot of effort into it anymore.

I just hope mother didn't want inside of that pumpkin for a soup of a gratin after they finished whatever they did.
By the way I never tried any artistic skills with pumpkins.

I’ve never done it they’re too expensive for me to carve them and make a mistake. I have no experience. My father and my brother did it and my mom made a ceramic pumpkin by her hands one year
