What's a small memory that made a big impact in your life?

When I was 11, my grandfather came to help us install the powder room on the first floor of the house. He was nearly ALWAYS complaining about everything and anything.
When my little brother was born he spent all day, every day screaming his head off!! Nobody could figure out why!! By the time he was two, he'd screamed so much and so hard, he had to have a hernia operation!! Consequently, he spent the rest of his life complaining about everything, too. Dad would say, "Oh, he's got his bitch factory going, again!!"
So, there the both of them were bitching and complaining about everything under the Sun while the 4 of us were trying to build the bathroom. Then I caught myself doing it, too and it suddenly hit me that I WAS and decided right then and there that I DON'T wanna spend the rest of MY life in bitch mode, too so, from then on, unless I was REALLY, REALLY pissed about something, I wouldn't complain the way they did!! I MUCH preferred to be like our neighbor, Frank Gallo who never complained about anything! (One day when his son, Bruce, was playing with a ball in the house after being told not to, he broke a glass table top and his mother, Rita, started SCREAMING HER HEAD OFF at him for breaking that table!! Frank came into the room and found out what all the screaming was about and he just calmly said to her, "It's okay, Rit, we'll just get another one." So, they traded Bruce in and got a different kid. No, they just got another table top or table.)
