Tell me, why are people so obsessed with age online? Over common interests... I swear I didn't even talk to her about adult topics. What the actual F man.
TF SHE THOUGHT I WAS A TEENAGER... I'm eloquent AF a trait that you cannot find in teens 2025

Trending & News At this point it has happened so many times to me that I genuinely don't know what to do. One of the solutions and most likely the best one is to just simply move on (easier said than done I know, MUCH easier said than done) and try to find new friendships, true, REAL friendships.
You could also do something like contact one of their friends or family members and ask them why they blocked you. Or create a fake account and ask why they blocked you. But I don't know if these are great options. Plus I know a lot of friends and family members don't like being used as messengers for resolution.
As for this specific situation...19 huh. Compared to you she's probably really immature because for a young person whose brain is still developing those 6 years make a huge difference. I think the brain finishes developing in the late 20s or something like that? So 19 and 25 is a pretty big maturity difference. 30 and 36 wouldn't be. So you can sort of think of her as a spoiled little brat, lol.
But regardless of brain development I do agree that people obsess over age a little too much. Especially if it's just common interests and no adult topics.
In hindsight it's always easy to see the red flags. Much harder in the actual present. And yup. Teens in 2025 are the literal opposite of eloquent. 😅
I did the fake account. Made me feel stupider. Blocked that b**** on both accounts
I wasn't gonna say it because I thought it was childish/embarrassing but YES I myself also did the fake account thing many, MANY times. I'm not proud of it but I did it. The most common reason I did it was to evade a ban. Doesn't work as well anymore with IP address detectors getting more advanced and detecting you even through a VPN or Tor.
But another reason I did it was to "test" who my real friends were. As in I'd go talk trash to my "friends" about my own self and see if they would also start to trash talk me or if they would defend me. I honestly wasn't that surprised at the results as the ones who did trash talk me did have previous conflict with me.
Anyways, that's me. As for you, good for blocking that bitch on both accounts! You deserve better and she deserves someone as retarded as her.
We have all done the fake account thing to test people lmfao
Glad to know I'm not alone. 😂👍 Though since people like to act like they're superior and more moral than you they'll just go "NO I WOULD NEVER DO THAT NOT IN A MILLION YEARS!"
Especially when I used to post regularly on Reddit before getting banned. When I posted about this topic I got like -500 downvotes on all my comments and the replies saying: "You worthless retarded little shit. How old are you, seriously? And then you complain about being depressed and not having friends and your parents resenting you (them going through my post history, classic Reddit)? No wonder! What you are doing is manipulative, guilt tripping, and psychopathic! They cut ties with you just accept it don't try to get around it for fuck's sake! I hope you die alone."
Redditors just love acting like they're superior to you and have NEVER done anything wrong.
I also have done this on this site called PokeFarm Q. Basically just a browser website Pokemon clicker game where on the surface on its own it's just an innocent Pokemon game aimed primarily at children but a lot of the mods/admins on there are fucking psychopaths and have the history to show it.
For a while it was fun to do ban evasion to fuck with the mods/admins. They are HORRIBLE at taking constructive criticism for their game and basically just want blind praise all the time. They take themselves waaaaaaayyy too fucking seriously.
Reddit is not for the weak. I have been called racist for just mentioning Koreans
So true! And that's not counting all the times I've been called a "delusional mindless retard" for liking "(insert unpopular tv show, movie, video game, or food, etc)." They basically just want you to always agree with them no matter what and downvote any and all unpopular opinions. And speaking of which there's literally a popular sub called /r/unpopularopinions and get this... NONE OF THE MOST UPVOTED POSTS ARE ACTUALLY "UNPOPULAR OPINIONS!" They just tend to be things that most of the population is about 50/50 on like chocolate vs vanilla, person with tattoos and piercings vs a person with no tattoos and no piercings, hot weather vs cold weather... WHAT A FUCKING JOKE!
And of course your example with mentioning Koreans is also ridiculous. I also got called a racist for mentioning that Black people in America have it way harder than White people in America and they went like: "Black people and White people have all the same rights these days and have for a long time. In fact White people are now the ones who have it harder because we can't say the n-word when singing along to rap songs!" And like... YEAH. Not being able to say the n-word totally balances out police brutality, nationwide discrimination, getting more jail/prison times for the same crimes White people did, generally living in much poorer areas, and that's not even the beginning of it.
For a better experience on Reddit it's probably best to stick to the smaller subreddits, they're USUALLY more civil, but even then it's not 100% guaranteed. On a small subreddit about a subsection of the LGBTQ+ community I literally got doxxed and swatted because I mentioned I'm generally attracted to feminine presenting people but of course masculine presenting people are totally valid and I still support them. And apparently some butch lesbians got REALLY offended over that. Started to send me death threats and everything.
It's the bystander effect. Usually your first comment determines how well people would take your post. If the first comment is negative... It's gonna get nasty
On a totally different site, I used to have an account just to leave positive feedback on main, to get people to like me. It's the PR strategy really
People sure seem to call you the R word
Nobody wants unpopular opinion unless it's weirdly entertaining or tragically human.
Or the algorithm loves you
Bystander effect huh. Yeah! That makes a lot of sense actually! I've even seen several Redditors themselves point that out though in somewhat different wording. Something like: "One person downvotes your post then everyone downvotes your post."
That's actually not a bad PR strategy. For me though (and this is gonna sound weird as hell) I created different accounts to talk bad about my own self. Sort of like an emotional/verbal masochist (rather than a literal physical masochist obviously). Like I'd go up to an ex-friend or something on an alt account and say things like: "God you know that Ezra guy? I hate him so fucking much! Why were you ever friends with him to begin with? I've known him for like 6 months and he's already the worst person I've ever met!" And I'd just keep egging them on to see how nasty they would get towards me.
It was a good technique though to smell out my real friends. To see if they would start to criticize me as well, or defend me, or just stay quiet/not respond. 😅
Ah yes. People DO love to call me the R word! Probably because I'm open about my mental illnesses and they assume that mentally ill (even if it's just depression or anxiety or autism) means I'm mentally retarded. In fact an ex-friend of mine with all his friends had made a Discord server dedicated to calling me retarded and telling me to kill myself (I have suicidal thoughts regularly) and they started to dox and swat me. Probably goes without saying but WORST EX-FRIEND EVER!!! And he didn't even apologize or feel sorry. He was just like: "It's just a joke bro. Stop being so offended. I don't really want to be friends with you anymore anyway to be honest."
Yeah. "Birds of a feather flock together" is such a fucking true saying. 😤 People just DON'T like unpopular opinions like 99% of the time. 🤷♀️
And yeah. The algorithm can also play a big part!
That's weird. People who are that obsessed with these superficial things are not worth it. I've talked to so many people online. Of course if you don't have much in common there's limits to how much you can talk but you can still exchange a few things. A conversation will naturally die anyway when there's nothing left to say. You're better off.
What I'd do is just move on and forget about it I learned that a long time ago on the internet. It doesn't mean you should treat every relationship as one you can just drop at any moment but it's still a valuable skill to have it saves a lot of energy on emotional turmoil and thinking about stuff that doesn't really matter.
Hope you feel better soon :)
Platforms like Discord, Twitter & Tiktok encourage literal kids to come online and act as if they own the damn world
Grooming, stalking, bullying etc STILL happens today so I don't know who they are fooling with the damn age protocol thing
Means she wasn't a proper friend to begin with. I'd be disappointed, but move on.
i would text a mutual and ask them to ask her why she blocked me?😭😭

They thought you were 19, but once they found out you are 25 they blocked you?
That’s just cold.
Similar interests, close proximity in age, no adult topics, and being respectful/eloquent is all basis to not block somebody rather than reasons to.
anon1903 let them be them, and you be you. Clearly you are a great person to be around (I’m currently following you on this platform) so, continue to be with great company not weirdos.
Give it some space and time. And have you actually met in person? Lots of aliases, trolling, lurking, LARPing, etc.
It was an online friend. They loved surveys, essays, gay fiction like me so I thought... I thought we clicked
It can be a bummer to discover you might have been "catfished". Or maybe the person just really got busy, or found out you were not old enough for him/her?
She doesn't talk to people over 21. I never hid my age from her, I just never mentioned it. And I was stupid enough to not read her stupid bio until now, when she blocked me without another word.
How old is she? You might just wait a bit (perhaps a year or two, who knows)
Nah. Blocking her back
Also,
1) waiting sounds like a grromer motive
2) I always block people back. No takebacks
3) I dont think she did that on accident, she is just a b****
Not my intention - more along the lines of "wait a bit and see if she gets over it". But if you DID give the impression that you were younger when you were not, even if unintentional, then just apologize and then end it, I guess.
She didn't even confront me before blocking. I owe her nothing
Ehh im whatever at this point with that stuff. If they do that to you yeah it hurts but maybe they weren’t that much of a friend after all. If they actually had an issue they would respectfully talk with you about to work it out. I chalk them down as immature and go about my life. Their loss.
I would think, there is a reason...
just, unknown
oh... you're not SIX SEVEN !!
welcome to the adult world... lol
It sucks
On the internet that has happened a lot to me. Especially when I first started. Now days I know they are not real friends. Real friends don't just block for stupid reasons.
Obviously this was never a real friend. 🙁
I feel stupid
Try not to take it personally.
