How would you plan a 3-country surprise birthday trip for family?

It’s my brother’s birthday in two months and I feel like giving him a surprise, if I can take enough days off from work, I want to buy him a ticket and travel to Thailand with me for 3-4 days , then Jeju Island for 2 days and then we’ll return to China. Where I’ll have to get back to work but he can stay around and spend some time with me and I can take him to show around China on my days off.

I think a 3 country trip would be a nice surprise, since he’s so responsible and dedicated to the family that he hasn’t had any time to travel in the past two years.

I already had a month off in February and that’s why can’t get more than 6-7 days off, but want to take him with me anyway. Those 6-7 days I want to spend somewhere exotic - Like Thailand for four days and then 2 days on a little Jeju island, after that he can stay with me in Shanghai and first, I’ll show him around Shanghai and next I’ll take him on day trips in nearby cities on my days off. Then as he gets familiar with China, I can arrange his trip somewhere further in the southern China .

Passing through immigration and flying in that time frame doesn't sound so fun, how about two countries instead?

I think I could get 6-7 days off. Was thinking to make the best of it, and after that take him in China with me and spend time with him whenever I am off work… He can explore by himself when I am at work, when I get off work, I’ll take him places and on my days off too. But those 6-7 days I was thinking to make the best of it, I guess he might enjoy Thailand more for 6-7 days instead of flying to Jeju. Just wanted to show him a bit of Korea too, in my short timeframe. But a good idea.
