What was your favorite hiding spot as a kid playing hide and seek, and why?

My parent bedroom closet.

We never really played Hide and Seek, we played Manhunt. It requires more skill, cunning, and athleticism. You are being hunted by teams of people and have to reach a safe zone, thus it is competitive where the better of the two teams win. They actually have to run you down and tag you before you reach the safe zone to get you out. You use concealment, but keep moving to complete your objective rather than just hide in paralysis. If jail rules are in place, you can also rescue your teammates when they are captured.

Oh that's really good question. I used to go into the laundry room, pull all the clothes out of the wardrobes and pile them into a big tower, then hide inside the clothes. And they could never, ever find me. :D
